The Really Nice Tamper is just what the name implies. No batteries, no apps, no fluff – just a well-made, fully mechanical self-leveling tamper with silky smooth and precise action. Available for all major portafilter sizes (58, 54, and 49mm)
Available in silver and onyx; both are the same premium anodized finishes utilized in many of our other accessories.
The 58mm is optimized for use with the Unifilter and Unibaskets – compatible with any 58mm basket.
A 9kg spring is pre-installed, but an easily-swappable 12kg spring is also included for those wanting a little more oomph.

Solid Anodized Aluminum handles. Available in Silver and Onyx. The same premium anodized finishes utilized in many of our other accessories.

Pressure-infused with clear resin after drying below 5% moisture, our stabilized hardwood maintains its shape through moisture and temperature extremes, showcases natural grain with a precision finish, and offers long-term durability.

Compatibility
Compatibility
The 58mm tamper base is machined to 58.55mm OD. The precision fit is compatible with most any 58mm basket, fancy or traditional.
The 54mm is machined to 53.50mm, used by many Dala Corte, Breville / Sage machines (e.g., Barista Express/Pro/Touch, Bambino/Bambino Plus, Infuser, Duo-Temp Pro, etc.).
The 49mm is machined to 49.50mm, perfect for our 49mm Unifilter, and also supports classic 49mm lever machines - especially Olympia Cremina and La Pavoni pre-Millennium 49mm machines. (Not for La Pavoni 51mm machines made after Aug 2000.)

Teak and European Maple pieces are kiln-dried, cut to near form, and infused under pressure with a low-viscosity monomer. This drives resin into every pore, creating a material that is half organic, half engineered, and fully awesome.

While the standard 58.55mm diameter we chose should fit most 58mm baskets, it's the perfect fit for our own baskets and the Unifilter. It will accurately level and compact your coffee without pulling a vacuum and ruining your perfect puck prep.

Most existing self-leveling tampers tend to get coffee powder stuck between the leveling plate and the back of the tamping base. By adding an exposed angle here, powder that does find its way in can either find its own way out – or be removed with a quick pass of a coffee brush.

Even with self-leveling, it has always made more sense to us for the pushing surface of a tamper to be flat like the bottom. Functionally and design-wise, these are parallel for peace of mind and the most efficient power transfer from your hand to the coffee.
